Meet Terry!

Originally from the US, I’ve lived in Airdrie for about seven years now. In that time I was able to come out to my friends and family as pansexual and transgender ftm. I even made a slideshow for when I came out! However I never got to use it, darn it.

My family back in the US are hit and miss; some are accepting and some aren’t. My Canadian family has come to accept me and have been there every step of the way. I’m very grateful to now have a support system of family, friends, and professionals. I am married to my favorite Canadian and together we have many furbabies that are a little spoiled. The hubby definitely reins me in on the spoiling.
I spend my time outside of Airdrie Pride volunteering for the Alberta Wildlife Conservation Institute, reenacting the Viking people based on historical findings, and make noise on my drum kit. I love to write and crochet.

I joined Airdrie Pride because I want to be the person I needed as a youth. I had no one to turn to for support and guidance. I struggled with my wellbeing and had no idea that what I was going through was normal. Establishing Airdrie Pride Society as a source of safety, stability, and education is my ideal for our community. With the passionate people on the board with me and you in our community, it’ll happen.
